Church History
On September 30, 1972, our church was conceived. On December 24, 1972, after several church services conducted by Reverend Benjamin Smith, Sr., our church, Deliverance Evangelistic Church was born. From those meetings about sixty high school students received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
As
the membership and ministry continued to grow, the officers and I began to
see God's mandate for us was to develop a holistic message and ministry. This
holistic message and ministry were to address the spiritual, mental, emotional,
physical, social, and financial needs of men, women, and children. To accomplish
this we had to train personnel and find a property large enough to meet our
growing congregation. Thus, on April 16, 1994, we purchased a vacant shopping
mall, known as LaGorce Square Shopping Center, now called Faith Center Ministries.
Faith
Center Ministries, located in Burlington Township, sits on 5.33 acres of Ground
with eleven buildings. The specific program that God has given us to accomplish
His mission is SAVE--spiritual, academic, vocational, and economic development.
Part of the program will concentrate on meeting spiritual needs, and part
on secular needs.
This
new step of faith will afford greater opportunities to meet the needs of the
membership and the community. Faith Center Ministries is not God's exclusive
vision for members of Deliverance church, but it includes all people.
