Alicia J. Hubbard was born into a loving family in the City of Philadelphia to James and Karen Hubbard. When she was a preschooler, her family relocated to Willingboro, NJ. When she was five years old, her grandmother, a member of the parachurch ministry, Women’s Aglow Fellowship made sure she could attend a special outreach luncheon the group was hosting for children. It was at that special event that Alicia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior.
In 1982 her family joined Deliverance Evangelistic Church of Burlington, NJ where Pastor Eric F. Ricks was the pastor. He would remain her pastor for over three decades. As a child, she served on the choir and participated in children’s church, Sunday School, and the ministry’s very active youth ministry.
After graduating from Holy Cross High School, Alicia enrolled in Bennet College for Women in Greensboro, NC, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary English Education. While in college, she joined Evangel Fellowship C.O.G.I.C. under watchcare and was an active part of the congregation. She later matriculated at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC and received her Juris Doctor.
Upon returning to New Jersey, Alicia resumed her participation in her home church, which changed its name to Faith Deliverance Worship Center. She taught various classes and served in the music and flag ministries. She was installed as a teaching minister. Alicia currently serves as a music worship leader. She is a worshipper who loves to see God’s people worship Him in the beauty of holiness. She also has a passion for making sure that people receive sound and relevant biblical teaching that transforms lives.
Alicia serves outside the church providing people who have been charged with or convicted of serious crimes with legal representation that recognizes God’s desire for righteous justice, His merciful nature, and His abounding grace. She is thankful for her loving biological family, friends, and church community.
